IMPORTANT: New Login Procedure

Welcome to the Anderson School of Management Virtual Computing Lab. The Virtual Computing Lab (VCL) is available to all Anderson students 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. The VCL works by using Microsoft’s Remote Desktop technology.

Virtual Lab Time Limits and Usage Policy

All users have a two hour time limit. Once you have successfully logged on to one of the virtual lab machines, a timer begins counting down the time you have remaining on your session. When you have five minutes remaining on your session, you will be given a warning to save your work and log off. You will receive subsequent warnings to save your work and log off until your session time has expired at which point you will be logged off automatically. It is imperative that you SAVE YOUR WORK!! All of your work will be lost if you have not saved it before the system begins the automatic log off procedure. We are NOT responsible for any data that is lost. It is your responsibility to save your work.

Please do not close your remote desktop session without logging off. If you do, you are wasting resources that others could be using. This is one reason we have implemented an idle timeout. If you disconnect from your session or if you leave the remote system in an idle state, you will be automatically logged out after 15 minutes. The automated logout does not save any documents that you may have had open. Please remember to save your work and properly logout when finished using the remote desktop system.

Time Limits
2-hour time limit per session. 1 hour 55 minutes plus a 5 minute warning.
15 minute idle time limit. 10 minutes plus a 5 minute warning.
