The following provides some information on how to use the Anderson Virtual Computing Lab.

Instructions For Logging Into the Virtual Lab

Mozilla Firefox Users

When using Mozilla Firefox and you first click on a link to start a virtual lab session, you will see a window like below:

Make sure the “Do this automatically for files like this from now on” box is checked and click on OK. This message box will not appear again the next time you log in to one of the virtual machines.

Internet Explorer Users
Internet Explorer will have a similar dialog box. Uncheck the ‘Always ask before opening this type of file’ box and Click ‘OPEN’.

All Users
A login prompt will appear next. Make sure that the ‘User name’ is V-StudentXX (where XX is the vlab machine number, like 01) and that the ‘Log on to’ field is MGT. The password will be provided to you by your instructor.

After logging in, you will see the ‘Acceptable Use Policy’ screen. Please read the notice as it contains important information regarding your use of the virtual lab system. When you are done reading the policy, click on ‘Click here to START’.

You will then see the following pop-up window. Click ‘Yes’ to continue.

Once you have agreed to the acceptable use policy and the virtual lab machine has completed the login process, the following pop-up informs you that your session has begun and that you have two hours to complete your work.

If you are logged in to a virtual machine and no activity is detected for 10 minutes (like a screen saver) the following window will inform you that you have 5 minutes remaining before you are automatically logged out due to idle timer expiration. Click 'Cancel' to continue working.
